The messages that move through me, made real in the squid ink black. At lunch, I step into the city’s square with my sandwich of pink prosciutto and salted butter. After siesta, each punch in my time card becomes a portal. When the day is complete, so am I. I take my time on the way back, my heels clicking on cobblestone. Picking up parcels. Peering into windows. Winding my way through a world of my making. I take dictation so that my life can take its own direction.
