"I am 8 years old and I am tall enough to see out of the window and straight into the sky. I  trace the lines between the blue and the green and the brown with my little finger. There are layers to this cake and I make them with my hands. First, I mark the line of the mountains. Their large lumpiness makes me feel safe and also heavy in the center of my chest.
