On the way to Rimini, we rolled the windows all the way down and now my red hair is alive and tangled. I am a goddess of the sea. I am unashamed. Like Fellini’s La Saraghina: the big bosomed witch who bared her body on the beach. “The big sardine.” Aunt Oleanda covered my eyes (and hers) when La Saraghina showed herself on screen at the cinema, rolling her hips to the rumba. “Too much.” Now I am more than enough, sprawled in the striped cabina where I give my own body to the biscotto-colored sand. My friends can see all of me. And some passerby, too. We invite them under the awning and we are all ready for another round. I reach for a hand. I whisper an aside. I give a wink. And I fill their cups.
